We encourage you to register as soon as possible, both to ensure your participation and to assist us in planning this conference.

All delegate fees -- regular and student, member and nonmember -- include:

  • One ticket to blues OR classical concert
  • One ticket to closing reception
  • Tea and coffee during Symposium breaks

Accompanying Guest Registration Fee

The accompanying guest registration fee includes the events listed below. Registration is required for adults, as well as children over the age of 12, who wish to participate in these events.

  • One ticket to welcoming reception
  • One ticket to blues OR classical concert
  • One ticket to closing reception

Note regarding special events that are NOT included with Symposium registration fees:

Tickets for the following events may be purchased with registration and are required for all attendees, including children under 12.

Picnic: This event will be held at Chicago’s Navy Pier, on Wednesday afternoon, July 28. Ticket prices are: $30 per person, for adults and children age 12 and over; and $15 per person, for children under the age of 12.

Banquet: This event will be held at The Fairmont Chicago on Thursday evening, July 29. Tickets are $75 per person.

Please make payment on a single credit card to ensure prompt confirmation of your registration. Requests to make payment by check, money order, or multiple credit cards can be accommodated, but registration will not be confirmed until full payment is received. Registration fee payments received after June 25, 2004 are subject to higher rates, as shown in the registration fee schedule.

Payment may be made by credit card (Mastercard or Visa), or by check or money order (U.S. dollars only, payable to University of Illinois). If you wish to pay by check, money order, or multiple credit cards, you will receive an invoice confirming your balance due and providing payment instructions. No wire transfers, vouchers, purchase orders, or phone registrations will be accepted. There is a $25 service charge for all returned checks.

To cancel your registration for the Symposium, written notification must be provided to the UIC Office of Conferences and Institutes (C&I). Notification can be made by e-mail, fax, or mail, and will be acknowledged by return e-mail. If you do not receive an acknowledgement of your request, contact C&I to confirm that it has been received.

All refunds are subject to a minimum processing fee of $50 ($25 student). For requests received after June 15, but before July 10, $100 ($25 student) will be withheld. No refunds will be issued for requests received after July 10, or for non-attendance.

Names and addresses of attendees will be electronically processed and included in a participant list that may be posted or distributed during and in connection with the Symposium. By registering for the Symposium, participants express their agreement with these regulations.
