The Combustion Institute invites commercial, industrial, and institutional sponsors, as well as donors, to present exhibits that are consistent with the mission of the Institute at the 30th International Symposium on Combustion.

Combustion is a multi-disciplinary field encompassing diverse areas in science and engineering, such as mechanical, chemical, and aerospace engineering, chemistry, physics, and mathematics. Representative topics of interest include energy and power production and utilization, environment and pollutants, surface- and aero-propulsion, aeronautical and astronautical exploration, explosion and fire hazards, fuels and propellants formulation, chemical kinetics, fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, heat and mass transfer, laser diagnostics, sensor developments, and large-scale computation and simulation. The biennial International Symposium on Combustion, organized by the Institute, has become the most prestigious conference in combustion. Its published proceedings have served as the major source of reference material in combustion and the related disciplines.

It is expected that the 30th Symposium will be especially well attended because it coincides with the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Combustion Institute. Anticipated attendance includes at least 1,200 technical registrants and several hundred accompanying visitors. Registrants will come from all over the world, with over half from the U.S. Their technical backgrounds, interests, and affiliations will span the entire range of the technical R&D enterprise, from academia, to industrial and government labs, and government funding agencies.

Exhibition space will be provided in the Chicago Circle Center (CCC). Located on the UIC campus, at 750 South Halsted Street, CCC will serve as Symposium headquarters throughout the week. Activities that will be housed at CCC include registration and information, Internet room, reading room, and food/refreshment services, as will plenary and poster sessions. Lecture centers, where parallel sessions will be held, are a short walk away. Click here for detailed program.

A standard exhibit booth will be 10’ wide by 6’ deep and include an 8’ high pipe and drape backwall, 3’ high siderail, (1) 6’ skirted table, (2) padded side chairs, (1) booth I.D. sign, and (1) waste basket. Access to a limited number of standard electrical outlets will also be provided, on request, at no additional charge. The charge for each standard unit is $2,500, and allows for participation of one representative in all Symposium activities that are included in registration fees. The cost for each additional representative is $300. The exhibit space will be open during the bulk of the meeting.

Symposium sessions will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Sessions will adjourn at noon on Wednesday, for the picnic event at Navy Pier, and at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, for the closing reception. Official exhibition days will be Monday–Thursday, July 26–29. Booths will be available for set-up by 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 25.
