Campus housing is sold out. We
still have availability at
Chicago
City Centre and InterContinental
Chicago.
UIC’s two newest residence
halls -- Marie
Robinson Hall (MRH) and Thomas
Beckham Hall (TBH) -- will
serve as headquarters for Symposium attendees who
wish to stay on campus. These facilities, part
of the new South Campus development, are located
at or near the intersection of Halsted and Maxwell
Streets, about 5 blocks south of Symposium headquarters,
Chicago Circle Center (750 S. Halsted).
Each guest will have an individual private bedroom
(single room) in a 4-bedroom apartment with
a shared living room, kitchen and two bathrooms.
The private
bedrooms, which can be locked, include a twin-sized extra long bed, a dresser,
desk with shelf-mounted light, a desk chair, and full closet. (Guests must
provide their own hangers.) The kitchen is equipped with an oven/stove,
full size refrigerator/freezer, sink, and cabinets.
(Guest must provide their
own cooking, microwave, and eating utensils.) Each bathroom has a shower,
sink, and toilet. The apartments are air-conditioned, with each thermostat
controlling two bedrooms. Each building has a TV room and laundry facilities.
Standard linen will be provided, including blanket,
pillow, pillowcase, sheets, towels and a washcloth.
Each guest will also receive a plastic
drinking cup
and bar of soap. Maid service is not provided. In addition to those items
already mentioned, guests who so desire will also need to provide their
own telephones, paper products (facial tissues and paper towels), and
laundry supplies. Internet services are not
available to guests.
If you have names of other guests who prefer to be assigned to same apartment,
you may list them with your reservation request. Every effort will be
made to group people as requested, but please encourage others in your
group
to register for the Symposium and make their campus housing reservations
at
the same time to ensure they are on the list for room assignments.
Campus Parking:
On request, arrangements can be made for residential
guests
to have access to campus parking at a reasonable
weekly rate,
including in/out privileges. Inquires about this service should
be directed to the
